This past week, our house has been a major construction zone, as we’re undergoing a complete repiping job in our home.
That means all of the clothes have come out of the closet (the dressers were moved out of the closet too)…
Every single thing in the bathroom was removed…
And the entire garage had to be emptied as well!
The only part of the house that had a reprieve was our guest room — so guess where everything ended up?
That’s right! Now the guest room looks like a war zone.
As you know, I’m always on the lookout for the hidden gift in challenging times, and even in the midst of all this upheaval, in our household, I found it!
The hidden gift in this massive rearranging of nearly all our belongings is that as we start to put our things back in place, we can carefully consider exactly what things we want to keep, what things we want to get rid of /donate.
Even though we live a rather streamlined life, it’s amazing how “stuff” seems to multiply when you’re not looking!

I’ve always loved organizing things — yet there have been times when I’ve been overly-zealous in my desire to simplify & declutter my life.
The story I share with you in today’s #PMO video is about a lesson I learned along these lines.
My experience makes me think of that saying, “Parting is such sweet sorrow” — especially when it comes to figuring out what to get rid of — and what to keep!
