Peggy completed a certificate in Yoga Studies from the University of California, Irvine Extension and also completed the Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program with Shiva Rea at Sacred Movement Studio in Santa Monica, California. She's also certified by the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer and a weight and lifestyle management consultant.

The type of yoga I teach is a unique blend of the various types of yoga emphasizing awareness, breath and concentration. I tailor each class to meet the needs of the students. Every class is different, but they have the common theme of “experiencing” the pose rather than trying to “achieve” the pose. Yoga teaches us to practice with integrity and compassion, allowing the body to open rather than forcing it to. In this way, we develop patience and fortitude and learn to carry those qualities with us in our daily lives.

All About “Om”

According to yoga, om is the primordial sound of the universe. By chanting this Sanskrit syllable, one can align with the energy of the universe and connect to the source of life. Take a nice long inhale and on a slow exhale, chant  “ahh …oh…oong”. Let the sound linger, resonating deep inside. Repeat several times to help promote a natural state of bliss.


When the five senses and the mind are stilled

And reason itself rests in silence,

Then begins the path supreme.

This calm steadiness of the senses

is called yoga.
